A rainy day can be a bummer when you had plans. The day can feel lost when the rain is pouring down. There are many great Rainy Day dates that you and your sweetie can do together!
A rainy day is actually a great time to try something different. Today we are looking at some of the ideas you can try for a rainy day today.
Rainy Day Dates
Dancing lessons
If the rain is pouring down why not join a club such as Arthur Murray and enjoy some dancing lessons? Guys, how many of your wives/girlfriends have said that they wanted you to go dancing with them?
My husband and I used to go swing dancing every weekend. I was actually on the swing team with a dance studio. Every Saturday night after swing practice we had “swing night.” The studio was opened up for people to come dance! It was so much fun!
Dancing is fun and it doesn’t matter if you have two left feet because it is something different to enjoy! It’s also indoor, which makes it top choice in this list of rainy day activities.
Miniature Golf
This may or may not be a great rainy day date for you, depending on what is available in your area. A lot of miniature golf courses are outdoors, but more and more, indoor mini golf places are opening up in malls. For a while in our town, we had a “cosmic” mini golf place with black lights and neon colors.
Trampolining
If you love being active together and want something silly, trampolining is a fun idea. Trampoline places are becoming extremely popular. Not only will it be fun but it will also be a workout.
Note to husbands: Do NOT make this a surprise date if you and your wife have had kids… Moms, you know what I’m referring to. Guys, check that your lady’s bladder control is up to this activity.
I for one am still unable to sneeze without crossing my legs, jumping on a trampoline has been a forbidden activity for a while now! 🤣🤣🤣
Visit an Aquarium
For those days when the rain is pouring and water is all over the place, why not embrace underwater life and visit an aquarium?
This is one of my favorite activities! Aquariums are BEAUTIFUL, making them a great place for a rainy day date.
Not many of us realize how many different animals live under the water until we visit an aquarium and it can be a truly wonderful experience for all. Take some pictures, enjoy the day and see some sharks!
Go to the Museum
If you love science or history a rainy day is a perfect chance for you to head to a museum and learn about a few things or just enjoy looking at beautiful art.
History and science are fun subjects to learn and you will be able to head to the museum and enjoy some wonderful displays and maybe even catch a limited time only exhibition! An art gallery can also be the perfect place to come if you want to experience something wonderful.
Some of my favorite memories are of when my husband and I were teenagers (yes, I said TEENAGERS, read our Love Story here), we would go to the museum all the time. It was the perfect date for a couple of teenagers because it was romantic but, more importantly, free!
See a movie
One of the easiest options for when the rain is pouring like crazy outside is to see a movie. There’s a reason this is a classic date idea. It’s fun!
Movies are always fun and there are usually some great movies out to check out. Even if you don’t know what you want to see you can always just head over and make a decision on the spot.
Many places have a classics night where they play old movies. This could be a great time to watch an old favorite together on the big screen.
Go Bowling
Bowling is a pastime that many of us try during our childhood and it is super fun for us to play around with. This is on the list of rainy day dates because it’s indoors, it’s lots of fun, and depending on where you go can be fairly inexpensive.

Whatever you decide to do with your spouse, remember to have fun! You’ll notice that most of these rainy day dates aren’t focused on being super romantic, but more on remembering to have fun with each other.

Great ideas! I would never have thought to go trampoline jumping. I always think of kids for that. LOL
These are great, but I love the dancing lessons one the most. My husband and I took western dance lessons early on in our marriage and it has been a skill we have used countless times sense.
We love when we’re at weddings and we pull out our swing moves! People are always impressed 😛
My husband and I took dance lessons every week and had dinner beforehand. We loved it! He didn’t think he would. I dragged him to the lessons, but we laughed and laughed. The only reason we stopped is because he travels for work a lot during the spring and summer.
My husband also thought he wouldn’t like it, but he had so much fun!
This is so helpful! Definitely going to be trying some of those since so far our summer has been rainy!
I love rainy day dates. My favorite is getting a hot dog at Costco and sitting in the car right by the entrance and people watching. So many cute and funny things go on. 😀
Some great idea for a rainy day! If we don’t watch a movie at home under the covers, we head to the movies, too!

Great ideas! My husband used to teach ballroom dancing and tried to teach me…bad idea! Then he signed us up for ballroom dance lessons and learned that was also a bad idea! LOL We still laugh about it though. Some people are just better off grooving to their own thing after a few cocktails! 🙂

These are great ideas. Going to the movie theater is my favorite! My husband and I tried ballroom dancing. I had a HORRIBLE time remembering to follow his lead! The dance instructor ended up partnering with me as a corrective measure. Yikes.

Love these date night ideas! Whenever I take my kids to a museum or aquarium I have to be the responsible chaos coordinator for the outing. I would LOVE to just go with my husband and be able to read about everything at my leisure! Ü
