What is the name of your blog and tell us a little about it?

Purposeful Mommy is all about supporting each other as parents (not just moms). I love sharing what I’ve learned about parenting and running a household. I also love learning! I want it to be a place where people can also share their insights!

The main topic that will be recurring in my posts will be leaving work to become a stay-at-home mom and the struggles and joys that come along with that transition. I am a teacher who is no longer going to be a teacher and that is a little scary! It’s all I really know!

What made you want to start blogging?

I have wanted to blog for a long time. I have always wanted to write. I never felt that I had the inspiration or creativity to really do it. I dabbled with writing children’s books, but never got serious about it. I didn’t have the confidence to put myself out there. Blogging is a way for me to write and to put myself out there. Maybe I will work up to a children’s book someday!

What is something you want readers to know about you?

I am extremely lazy which is the reasoning behind any of the “hacks” and tricks that I will be giving out. I am good at technology, simply because I don’t want to do any more work than I need to! I find efficient ways to do things because of laziness… So… Secret’s out, I’m not a Pinterest mom. I’m a lazy mom who has figured some stuff out!

What are some words of wisdom that you would pass on to someone that has just started blogging?

Take a chance! There is not much to lose! It’s scary, but it ends up being a lot of fun! There are so many others out there ready to support you and give advice.

Where is your favorite vacations spot and why?

Well, I haven’t really gone on many TRUE vacations. I hope to one day travel to Ireland. Out of the places I HAVE been I really loved my trip to Disney World with my family as a kid! I hope to someday take my kids to the Magic Kingdom!

What is your favorite season?

Spring! I am not a fan of extreme weather. Spring is so nice after being so cold for so long! It finally gets sunny and beautiful!

Do you prefer coffee or tea?

I prefer Dr. Pepper.

Do you have any pets and tell us about them?

I did have two weiner dogs. My childhood dog, Sebastian, lived to be 19 years old. We thought he would never die! We did end up having to put him down in the end. He was a good friend.

My other dog is currently staying with my parents. After Sebastian died, she went a little nuts. She loved my kids, but they seemed to be causing her a lot of stress, which caused the entire family stress. She is much happier in the peaceful home of my parents.

Do you homeschool your children?

I want to homeschool someday. Now that I am becoming a stay-at-home mom, it is a big possibility, however we have found a Montessori school that we have absolutely loved my son going to. But if something changes, like us moving, I definitely would like to homeschool.

If you could take a trip with just you and your spouse, where would it be?

As said before, I would love to go to Ireland. It is just so beautiful.! I would love to just get away and get to just be us. We could enjoy the beautiful landscape and visit some castles.

Have you ever traveled outside of your country, if so where?

I have never actually been out of the country. I hope to someday go SOMEWHERE! My sister is moving to London next year, so maybe I’ll find an opportunity at some point to visit!
