All You Need to Know About Baby Car Seats
The concept of a baby seat came into existence induced by the safety of a child while traveling in an automobile. It is a removable seat with attachments or straps that helps in holding a child properly so that whenever there is any severe jerk or collision, the child can escape injury or death. These seats can either be bought or installed. The manufacturers of the cars also arrange to integrate them into the car’s design. In many countries, using baby car seats has been made mandatory for the protection of the child.
Kinds Of Baby Car Seats
There are 4 basic kinds of baby car seats available for the vehicles. As per the need, budget, ease and vehicle type, we can install or buy these seats.
Given below are the different types of baby seats.
- Infant Car Seats: Basically, these car seats are designed to cater to the needs of an infant, i.e. the child between the age group of 1 day to 2 years. These kinds of seats can be used in the rear-facing position only and are durable and last for around 6 months to 24 months or 2 years depending upon their usage. Sometimes the baby grows too fast and therefore demand changed baby seats prior to the expected time.
- Convertible Car Seats: The most attractive quality about this kind of seats is that unlike infant car seat, it can be used both in forward-facing and in rear-facing positions. Abiding by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s recommendation, the child can be kept in the forward-facing position after the age of 3 years. Though a few find it unsuitable for the infants.
- 3-in-1 Car Seats: These seats have close similarity with the Convertible baby seats and the best thing is that it can be used as a Booster seat as well. With the growing age and requirement of the child, it can be adjusted and readjusted to rear facing and forward-facing positions.
- Booster Car Seats: The children weighing about 30-40 pounds are suitable for this kind of seats. It can only be used in the forward-facing position.
A Few Cleanings Measure
Besides integrating the baby seat into your car, it is also essential that you ensure its cleanliness to maintain it for a longer period. When your baby is placed in the seat while traveling, that seat becomes their home for that period. It is unlikely that it will not sustain dirt, vomits, milk or juice spills. You must get your cleaning gloves on and get on with it. It is not only to ensure your child’s hygiene; it is also to maintain the decorum of your car.
A Few Essential Tips To Clean Up Your Baby’s Car Seat Involve-
- Take the baby seat off the car and place it on an old rug or blanket. Place it upside down before going through with the cleaning process.
- Vacuum it and get rid of all the dirt and dust from it, even form the underside of the seat material.
- Either, remove the car seat cover and wash it clean or rub off the stains and dirt from it.
- Clean all plastic parts in the baby seat with a plastic cleaner.
- Take heed that you clean all the toys that are kept in the baby seat.
- Reinstall the seat back once it is cleaned and dried.
As no one wants to compromise with their child’s safety so it is obligatory to use the baby seats in the vehicles to ensure the safety of the little ones while going for a ride in the car.
